Great, friendly, fun bar!
Rain is a great gay bar in downtown Austin. The bartender serving us, Robert, could not have been nicer (or more handsome). He was very helpful with advice about local restaurants and other sites to check out. The regular patrons were also very friendly and welcoming!! The drinks are well made, large and reasonably priced! Definitely a bar I will return to again!!
Do not go under 21
My two friends and I went to Rain yesterday, and we are all 20 years old. Knowing that it was an 18+ club, we decided to go for fun. We were sober the entire time, and I asked for a cup of water from the bar. I was drinking out of a clear cup, when all of a sudden two bouncers came up to me and asked if I had been drinking. I told them no, but then they both grabbed me around both arms (in front of tons of people) and drag me out onto the street. They gave back by ID (which they keep when you walk in under 21) and they decided to invalidate it by bending and breaking off the top corner where the bar code is for all three of us. I was furious, and they wouldn't let us back in. We also payed $10 each. It was ridiculous. It was an amazing atmosphere and awesome club, but we were ripped off and treated like trash my the security.
Great music too crowded
Loved the music but when you can't move and wait 25 minutes to get a drink..not the place for me.
Great bar right on 4th
Two doors down from OCH you can bounce back and forth and have a great time The bartenders are great, the staff is friendly and the customers are welcoming and love interacting with different people of all ages and walks of life.
